About
About
Product - Created With Intention
Made for calm mealtimes, our mora ceramic pet food bowls are intentionally shaped for steady, centered eating. A broad base stays put while the smooth, rounded well gathers kibble without crowding, encouraging a slow and comfortable rhythm for your dog or cat. Simple to lift and easy to clean, it looks at home in any kitchen and serves as a tidy feeder for food or water. Available in three different sizes.
Design & Material - Crafted by Two Minds, One Vision
Mora was founded on the belief that we all deserve more from life. Living in the heart of Minneapolis, Alix found herself overwhelmed by anxiety and fast pace of life. Seeking balance and calm, she discovered the art of crafting beautiful, functional pottery. Together with her husband Jerry, a material engineer, they created Mora to share this sense of calm with others — blending design and science to create products using Paladin Clay™, a ceramic body that’s 20% stronger than standard stoneware.
Every Mora piece is individually hand-glazed using all-natural colors from minerals. Slight variations in hue and speckling are celebrated, never hidden. Each piece tells its own quiet story of fire, time, and human touch.
“We find beauty in the differences.” That’s what makes every Mora plate one of a kind.
Our family oversees the production studio with the same care we give to our own table, ensuring every glaze and every firing meets the standards we live by.
Mora - You Deserve More
Mora means slow down in Latin, meaning we prioritize thoughtful decision making over speed. In every project, we value intention, ensuring each step we take is deliberate and purposeful, helping us maintain quality and care in everything we do.
Mora is a reminder that you deserve more: more time for yourself, more moments of calm, and more connection with the beauty around you. We champion self-compassion, inviting you to slow down, live intentionally, and cherish life’s small, meaningful moments.
Our tableware exists to hold those moments. To learn more about our story and studio, visit [Our Story →].

Glaze Finish - Safe, Natural, and Tested
Matte reactive glaze — lead-free, cadmium-free, FDA and CA65 compliant.
We care deeply about health and transparency, which is why every Mora product is tested and verified by third-party laboratories like SGS, the global leader in quality and safety testing, ensuring results are accurate, scientific, and trustworthy.
Real safety requires professional calibration, controlled environments, and certified oversight. We rely on standard scientifically validated testing instead of unsuitable at home methods.
We use our own products every day, so every certification we share is personal. You can review our latest testing details here: [Safety Report →]
Material - Pure Elements, Harmoniously Balanced
High-fired Paladin Clay™: a unique blend of natural minerals, water, and fire. Fired at 1280°C, it becomes a stable, vitrified material free from microplastics and harmful residues.
No synthetics. No additives. Just honest materials transformed into something lasting.
Origin - Where Design Meets Craft
Designed by Alix in Minneapolis and handcrafted in her husband Jerry’s family studio in Xiamen, China — a partnership rooted in both craftsmanship and love.
Each piece is inspected at every production step, ensuring beauty, strength, and reliability before it ever reaches your table.
The Craft
The Craft
- Only Mora has Paladin Clay™, 20% stronger and more chip-resistant than standard ceramics.
- Reactive crystallized glaze resists everyday scratches while keeping its soft, natural sheen.
- Hand-shaped forms stack smoothly and feel grounded in your hands.
- Slow-fired at 1280°C, then cooled gradually to prevent thermal shock and preserve strength.
- Every batch is family-inspected; we personally review the test results before anything ships.
- Subtle glaze differences in speckles and hue celebrate uniqueness and beauty.
This isn’t factory production. It’s the outcome of intention, repetition, and the quiet pride of shaping clay into calm.
Care & Durability
Care & Durability
Your Mora dinnerware is built to last, and easy to care for.
- Safe for dishwasher, microwave, freezer.
- Like all ceramics, it appreciates gentle transitions:
after oven use, allow it to cool naturally before rinsing; avoid plunging hot ware into cold water or placing frozen items directly into a pre-heated oven. Let the temperature adjust gradually — it’s a small act of patience that extends its life. - Occasional handwashing keeps the glaze luminous and smooth.
- Cutlery marks may appear over time — these are just metal residue traces, not scratches. To remove them, polish gently with Bar Keeper’s Friend, baking soda paste, or The Pink Stuff, as shown in our [Care Guide →].
Used daily in restaurants across the U.S., Mora ceramics endure the rigors of fast-paced kitchens yet feel perfectly at home in yours. When cared for properly, they’ll accompany you for a lifetime.
