5 Skrewball Whiskey Cocktail Recipes You Will Love

Are you a whiskey or a bourbon kind of person? As a southern girl always at heart, I love a good whiskey cocktail! I will share a few of my favorite cocktails highlighting the one and only Peanut Butter Skrewball Whiskey. If you love peanut butter and whiskey stick around for more!

An Old Fashioned With A Peanut Butter Twist

You can't really go wrong with an old fashioned. I still remember the first time I tasted a properly made old fashioned! Michael took me to this local restaurant called Lock & Key. First of all the food is absolutely amazing! My jaw dropped when I saw the biggest juiciest steak I have ever seen in my life pass by our table. The drinks as well! Made with such skill. I can say it was the best Old Fashioned I had ever tasted.

The Skrewball Old Fashioned - Well, I love whiskey and peanut butter, so we decided to browse for a new recipe. If you want to change up the classic every once in a while you will love this recipe!

Should We Do A Peanut Butter Bacon Mashup?

When we made the Skrewball Old Fashioned, we were in the mood for a Bacon Maple Old Fashioned as well. Then I thought wait! Peanut butter and bacon go together right? We should do a mashup. I was a little more thrilled about it than Michael was. This is the wild but not so wild exception recipe.

  • Ingredients:
  • 1.5 oz skrewball whiskey
  • 3/4 oz rye whiskey
  • 1/2 oz real maple syrup
  • 2 strips of bacon, crispy or candied
  • a dash of bitters
  • an orange peel

Directions:

  1. Add your whiskey, rye, maple syrup, 1/2 bacon strip crumbled over ice in a shaker.
  2. Shake until frost has formed on the outside of your shaker.
  3. Double strain into a rocks glass.
  4. Garnish with a dash of bitters, an orange peel, and a strip of crispy bacon (or candied bacon).
  5. Tip: We thought it was a little sweet for our taste so, you may want to add 1/4 oz maple syrup if you prefer less sweet.
  6. Don't forget to express the orange peel and rim your glass before dropping into your cocktail.

Peanut Butter In A Sour?

Sour Skrew Cocktail with Skrewball, lime, and egg white

The Sour Skrew - This recipe I wanted to try mostly out of curiosity. Also, it looked pretty. The whiskey sour is yet another cocktail that was properly introduced to me by Michael. Apparently the egg white foam is what makes the drink! Who knew?

I had to do some research on what actually happens when you shake the egg white. Many wonder if it is safe to consume. Egg white is an ingredient in more items than you would realize. One article I enjoyed reminds us that hygiene is very important when using raw egg white as an ingredient. I'll add the link below.

This cocktail tasted like a tootsie pop in a glass! If you grew up eating tootsie pops this sour will take you back. I thoroughly enjoyed every last sip! I let Michael have a taste, just to confirm it did indeed taste like a tootsie pop.

Dessert Time!

Sometimes you just need to sip your dessert! When we saw this White Russian spin called the Skrew Putin, we had to try it! This drink recipe you will find at Skrewballwhiskey.com. Yum! Peanut butter and coffee. What an interesting yet amazing combination! I have an obsession with Reece's, so they naturally became my go to garnish for this delectable beverage.

After we tried this coffee cocktail, Michael wanted to add his own spin. The nutmeg and chocolate were an amazing touch! For this recipe we used 1 oz of Mr. Black Cold Press Coffee Liqueur, 1 oz of Skrewball Whiskey, 1.5 oz of heavy whipping cream, grated 85% dark chocolate, and fresh grated nutmeg. In her blog Healthy Iced Mocha Recipe, Alix mentions some health and self care benefits of chocolate. The grated chocolate and nutmeg would also taste amazing on an Irish Coffee.

How To Make Michael's Coffee Dessert Cocktail

First mix together your whiskey and coffee liqueur in a rocks glass. Next carefully float the heavy whipping cream by pouring gently over a spoon. Finally grate your dark chocolate and nutmeg to your liking. You can sip and enjoy or mix all the flavors together first. You could even blend this cocktail and top with whipped cream, your chocolate, and nutmeg.😉😋 My Mora Ceramics Earl Grey Dinner Plate made a beautiful tray!
